Q1 Project: Terrariums

Step 1: Assembly
Due: 8/25
Plan your assembly so that you can be ready on 8/25

Step 2: Initial Write up (Class work grade)
Due: 8/25 (This is the sheet you are printing, project planning, link at bottom of this page.)

Step 3: Research Paper (50% of your project grade)
Due: 9/28

A. Include the following:
      1. Introduction  
      2. Hypothesis Statement
      3. Graph of Data
      4. Summary of research findings in support of hypothesis
      5. Methods
      6. Outcome (did you prove or fail to prove your hypothesis)
      7. Possible Next Steps

B. Must be Typed
      1. Page Setup: 1" Margins, Times New Roman, Calibri or Arial 12pt Font, Double Spaced
      2. Pages included:
              a. Title page (1pg) include; group member names, class period and a group/project name
              b. Body (2-4pg) (-1 pt for every line less than 2 pages or over 4 pages)
              c. Citations (3 minimum) (1pg) Peer reviewed articles
**scholar.google.com is a good place to start your research, possible key words: ecosystem, terrarium, your particular plant name

C. Body of the Paper
       1. Introduction; introduce your project.
       2. Hypothesis; what did you think would happen??
       3. Graph (no more than 7.5" wide and no more than 3" tall) show me what happened over the                  course of the project
       4. Summary of Research: "This is what other people said/have done/found" AND here's how it                                                     fits with I did.
       5. Methods; what did you do
       6. Outcome: What happened
       7. Possible Next Steps: what could you do differently to prove your hypothesis or continue the                                                 research

Step 4: Poster (50% of your project grade)
Due: 9/28

     1. Landscape orientation
     2. use textboxes to assemble the placement of your information
     3. you may use 1-2 pictures of YOUR terrarium
